1791’s 4-way holster is our first leather option on our list of the best P938 holsters. While this holster doesn’t specify the angles it cants, it can be carried in a multitude of ways, well more specifically 4. It can be carried either IWB or OWB so if you need a holster with both options this is a wonderful pick.
The holster has holes on one side for an OWB position, the other side has a metal clip for IWB carry. Some people find the need to switch positions or even just don’t know which one they will prefer. It’s nice to have the option to switch between the two variants at will with a holster like 1791’s.
If you’re worried about the quality of leather compared to KYDEX, it is 100% American Steerhide leather and is reinforced ensuring it holds up to the toughest abuse. Cut, molded, and doubled stitched by hand, this holster is built with quality and function in mind. If you find that you’d rather have a synthetic material after buying it, 1791 offers no hassle returns as well as a lifetime warranty.
Crossbreed Holsters MiniTuck
- Right Hand Draw
- Inside the Waistband; 3 to 5 O'clock Position
- Black Cowhide Leather Backer; Molded Kydex Retention Pocket
A little different of a style compared to the other holsters we’ve covered so far, the MiniTuck by Crossbreed Holsters is an IWB way to carry your weapon. Featuring two metal clips to attach to your waistband, some may prefer this type of IWB over the others as it may feel more secure. The MiniTuck is specifically designed for the P938, unlike other hostels that simply “fit” the P938 as well.
Another added benefit of the MiniTuck is the ability to alter the belt clips. You can adjust the cant as well as the ride height on this holster, unlike others. This holster tries to make itself as comfortable as possible and even includes a leather backing to prevent it from cutting into your front or side. With the combination of KYDEX and leather
DeSantis Gunhide Holster

- You can deploy your firearm instantly from this well-concealed platform
- The Criss-Cross is made from premium American cowhide and is molded for the new micro handguns
Another leather option that is only OWB, the DeSantis Criss-Cross holster is a little more limited than the others on our list but is still a great option. If you know for sure that you want to use a crisscross draw or have a cant at 45 degrees this holster is perfect for you.
Made from high-quality leather the Gunhide holster can be your everyday carry holster without fail. It features a double belt loop leather slide with a retention screw. While you won’t be able to cant or reposition this holster, you can alter the retention pressure. This will let you find that sweet spot so you can comfortably draw and fire quickly and reliably.
Things to Consider When Purchasing a Holster for Your Sig P938
Before you buy anything, understanding the different types of gear out there and the features available is important. Here is what we consider most important to know and consider when thinking of buying a holster for your Sig P938.
Type of Holster
As we mentioned in the beginning, there are IWB and OWB holsters. Knowing which type you prefer or need is important before buying a holster. If you don’t know which type you prefer, we suggest picking up a holster with both as an option. That way you can switch between both and figure out which one you like best. If your unsure of the differences, here are some things to consider when it comes to OWB or IWB carry.
OWB makes it known that you are carrying a handgun which can be a plus or a minus to some people. While it can serve as a deterrent since people are less likely to commit a crime if they see an armed citizen, it also can make you a target in certain situations.
OWB is generally seen as easier to draw and fire from since they’re outside the body and give the carrier more space to move.
IWB hides the fact that you are carrying a handgun giving you the element of surprise in situations where you will need to defend yourself. A lot of people want to carry without drawing attention to themselves and the fact that they have a firearm on them. If you’re this kind of person then an IWB holster is the best option for you.
Generally, there are a few different materials holsters can be made out of and they are all generally pretty durable. KYDEX is the most popular synthetic material to make holsters out of. It is a high-grade plastic that can stand up to the toughest beatings and is actually used in aircraft bulkhead construction. If airplane engineers can trust it to do its job 35,000 feet in the air, you can trust your holster to stand up to wear and tear on a day to day basis.
Another common material is leather, fake or genuine. Leather is often picked for its comfort and the ability to “work” it in. Leather can be worked in after a few months of use and mold to the way the carrier needs it. After a while, it will form itself around your needs and your weapon. Leather also isn’t as harsh against the skin as KYDEX or another plastic material.
Lastly, you may encounter hybrid holsters that combine the durability of KYDEX with the comfort of leather. KYDEX and leather are such great materials that this category is just personal preference and we see no first-place winner here.
Ability to Cant/Position
A lot of holsters come with the ability to cant into different angles. Some even come with the ability to be positioned differently. Even if you don’t use your holsters cants and positions, it is nice to have that option. Some people prefer their handguns to be parallel with their waist rather than perpendicular. Some prefer it to be canted at 45 degrees rather than either of those options. Finding out which position is most comfortable for you and lets you draw as quickly and safely as possible is the most important thing when it comes to holsters.
